Lost City Child
So perhaps it is time I introduce you to another talented photographer. All the photos posted before this were taken by one of my best friends, Isabella Tan. But if you noticed in my 'affiliations' there is another person there called Alex Leong. And below are some samples of his work.
Alex's works are different, and rather interesting. He has this unique flair about his pictures that I don't really find in a lot of photographers. The image, isn't just about the model in the photo, but the entire photo as a whole, as an art piece. It's rather humbling and beautiful really, because when I modeled for him I realized he wasn't really paying attention to me, or what I was doing or wearing, but rather, how I flowed with the things going on around me. It was a new experience, and I enjoyed it massively.
Not all the photos are up yet, I think. But here are a few.
The above are done using a digital camera. Why I would point this out? Because Alex also takes photos with film! How amazing is that? I never knew people still used such "archaic" technology (Note the sarcasm). He actually has a very interesting reason as to why. Something about how many new-age photographers take editing for granted and waste a millions shots to get one good one. But anyway, I was really happy with these three. Lovely photos, great composition. It isn't even about me! Look at the final photo, how gritty and dirty and real everything looked. It astounds me how he managed to catch this.
In any case, these photos aren't ones that I would put on my portfolio, seeing as they aren't really highlighting my skills, but his. Either way, I was very blessed and honored to be in this shoot with him.
This photo was done using film. And I cannot get over how gorgeous it looks. Sigh. Sometimes, I wish I could be the person behind the camera and not in front of it. I'm insignificant in this photo. It could just be another random girl standing there.
A real testament to Alex's skill in my humble opinion.

Thank you Alex Leong for this wondrous experience.
Love,
Fyx
