The second part of the Rain Nymph shoot.
Now this time I wanted to come off a little more mature, a little more serene. Perhaps 'nymph' wouldn't be the best way to describe it. But it was a beautiful day, and we were in a beautiful place, and I wanted to come off as one with the background, with the serene park around me.
And this was the result:
This experience made my love for nature grow even more, my love for beauty and the greens. I look forward to day where I can partner with them once again to create such compositions.
Love,
Fyx
ps. Having rashes for a week after this shoot was definitely worth it.

This was a rather impromptu shoot. We wanted to head to the park to take some nice photos, but then it started pouring cats and dogs. But alas, art never stops for anyone, and hence we decided to shoot anyway. It was freezing, I was drenched and super cold despite Melissa being there to help me out once in a while with an umbrella. In less than 5 minutes, I was soaked to the bone and shivering like crazy. We got a couple of good shots, but 10 minutes in, my make up was almost completely washed off and my fake lashes had disappeared. Still, we persevered and continued on.
Despite the weather, this was SUCH a fun shoot. I wouldn't consider myself a wild child per say, but I couldn't resist climbing trees, eating leaves, rolling in the mud, dancing on the table (half on Bella's insistence, half out of my own want to go a little crazy). Bella had been doing a million different shoots between this one and our previous seven sins one. I didn't want to disappoint her hence why I pushed myself to create as many varied compositions as possible, all with Bella's patient guidance and wise council.
Let me just say, I love that girl.
There were so many photos from this shoot. So many that I liked, so I'm going to split this into two posts. This one, the first one, is me trying to act mischievous, as the title of the album suggests, like a nymph.
When I think nymph I think laughter, audacity, cheek. And that was what I was trying to portray.
So these first two were taken as soon as we got there, when my makeup was still holding out. Hence why I looked so clean and happy amongst the leaves. Don't be fooled though, it was FREEZING.
And then we moved to the tables:
I tried playing the coquettish angle:
'This is my forest, and I own this world. Come play if you dare.'
And of course, what would 'fun' be without a little tree climbing and dancing?
The playing and fun didn't really need to be forced or acted out. I was having a lot of fun, despite the cold and bugs. The last photo was taken after the rain had subsided. I was asked to dance, and so I did. I did pirouettes, star-jumps, etc. Great great fun, a shoot I would never forget.
Once again, thank you Isabella Tan

Meet Wrath
She's gorgeous isn't she. She did her own makeup as well, the intense eagle-eyed look. Simply beautiful, the paradigm of her sin. Looking at her makes me want to shudder and run. As I should, I know this girl and she can be the epitome of Wrath when she wants to be. Still, she's amazing, you should check out the entire album and her works. An artist, a fashion designer, a great friend.
Next up,
Greed
Looking at this girl now, you wouldn't think that she could be the innocent, sweet, adorable girl that I know her to be. Crazy isn't it? She was quite inexperienced as well when this shoot was taken (not so much now, she's learned a lot) But look at this! I was so proud of her. So beautiful. Congratulations baby girl.
The rest of the girls I didn't really know personally at the time. Although now I can say that I consider Gluttony amongst my friends.
I love it, especially the white backdrop. She looks incredible.
And finally Pride
Sloth
And Lust
And of course me;
as Envy
In terms of emotive photography. I must say, this was my proudest work. I did my own makeup and hair as well, and I enjoy the fake tattoo around my neck, I think it gives it a nice touch. 'Bound by my jealousy' it seems to suggest. I absolutely love, love, love it.
This, reiterate, was such a fun shoot. I don't know how well I succeeded in embodying 'Envy', I am proud of the very first photo, but the rest sort of dwindles in my opinion. I have received and myself, given, some mixed reviews. But all in all, it was a learning experience. I great one too.

Once again, all this couldn't be done without the hard work, dedication and talent of Isabella Tan, who was the photographer. Thank you so much for these wonderful photos and for being so amazing.
Much love,
Fyx
ps. Apologies for the inconsistencies of the sizes of the photos. I'm afraid the presentation of each photo depends on the original size + if they are landscape or portrait. If you have not already noticed, my blog is rather 'skinny' and hence the variation of sizes.

(Measurements can be found on the 'About Me' page)
Here I am wearing minimal makeup. Black liner on the top eyelid, single coat of mascara and that's it. Also, form-fitting black spandex pants, black Aldo heels and a simple black top with a black bra underneath.
The last two was just for a bit of fun. Hehe. Ignore the blue nail polish please. Curse these. One day I will take a few without ANY makeup and without nail polish either. Someday soon. Video too.
Love,
Fyx
I tried portraying a sort of hidden strength that I feel only women can possess. From centuries of being the 'inferior sex' I feel that perhaps we feel a sort of sorrow that men cannot feel. But then again, maybe that's just me. But anyway, I was trying to remember all the times I was broken and pieced back together again for this shoot. Tried to show a true form of sadness.
But evidently, I need to work more on that.
These last three are probably some of the few that would be amongst my portfolio. I especially like the last one, a shame that shadows covered half my expression, but it also leaves a lot to the imagination. Depending on how you spin it of course.
Thanks again to xbellanotte photography for these wondrous photos.
Love,
Fyx

These two are to show the makeup I suppose. It is a dark blue-black with glitter liner. I realized that sometimes it is very easy for dark makeup to look like I've been punched in the eye. But on the plus side, I absolutely LOVE makeup and have been practicing what looks good on me for years. Also, fake lashes of course to emphasize my eye-shape/size.
These are my favourite black and white ones. All almost the same sort of demure poses, but I love the effect it has. It almost makes me look sort of old-school/Marilyn Monroe. I think these was one of my favourite shoots.
And finally my two favourite photos of the entire session:
I've been told that I have nice fingers, and I do admit that they are probably one of my best features. I am naturally stick thin, so they have a sort of fragility in them that I enjoy exploiting. My only problem with the colored one is that my right arm sort of comes out of nowhere, and looks like its a foreign limb jutting out of my head. My fake lashes also has this weird clump in the inner corner of the eye. However, despite all that I do like how it shows off my hair color, a natural light brown, although the waves were ironed in.
These two are part of my top 15 photos of all time I believe and are definitely going into my portfolio. Especially the last black and white one. I had a very enjoyable time with this shoot.
Love,
Fyx
ps. This was done in August 2011, my third shoot.

What can I say? Isabella Tan is very talented.
You probably could recognize that I used one of the photos from this shoot as the main photo on the 'About Me' page. That is my favourite in the whole shoot. I guess we didn't manage to really achieve much variation; as you can see, my facial expressions were pretty much the same throughout.
I do have a minor complaint about my left foot in the photo AND the Jean Perry label. I think it sort of ruins the dynamics, but hey we learn from our mistakes right?
Again, done in July 2011.
Love,
Fyx
ps. Much thanks again, to Bella. <3

The above is probably my favourite photo from that particular shoot. I remember how excited I was when she started uploading the photos on Facebook. I was out, in some grocer somewhere, next to the bread section when my Blackberry binged with a new FB notification. I was jumpy, nervous and half petrified waiting for the screen to load. When it finally came out I was honestly astounded. I never knew I could look like that! Obviously, most of it was thanks to Izzy's amazing photoshop ability, but honestly, woah. I couldn't recognize myself.
This was done I think July 2011? Both Bella and I have grown in terms of our understanding with modelling and photography as well as conveyance of emotion. I've worked together with Bells a lot since then, trying out different ideas and techniques. We both have room for improvement and I can quite proudly say that through our support of each other, we've improved. I can honestly say I would not be here today without her.
So again, thank you Isabella Tan. =]
These are three more photos from that same shoot. Of course at that time, since I was so new, I was just trying to transfer sexual energy to these photos. I'm beginning to think that perhaps that was not the best of ideas, and have started to appreciate the hidden type of sensuality. But again, this was just my first shoot so... =]
Probably two out of these photos will be going into my portfolio. Not sure which ones yet, but I will let you know when I do.
That's all for the 'Tough Love' shoot.
Love,
Fyx
ps. I'll leave you with a little quiet onion-inspired photo. Heehee.
