A Metropolitan Escape
These images were taken during our 'Rain Nymph' shoot and tweaked to add a sadistic feel. Bella used it for one of her 100 day photos, to my honor. It was Day 77: A Metropolitan Escape.

So poignant, and dark. It sends shivers up my spine.

Kudos to you, Isabella Tan.

Fyx

XBellanotte Photography
Last year (and this) Isabella Tan *xbellanotte photography decided to do a 100-Day project. You know the ones where people take and upload one photo a day for a number of days. This was hers. And wow, did she amaze not only me, but everyone who had ever looked through her photographs.

Honestly, they were amazing. I've had the honor of appearing in a few, two of which I will display in this blog. The rest however, were just astounding.

Here's a few as taster:

Seriously, are you not in awe? Most of them were self-portraits as well. I know she took a lot of her inspiration from Brooke Shaden, a very talented photographer herself. But woah, I cannot even begin to explain how proud I am of this girl. I just have no words...

Check out her full album here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.305369176157625.88305.253767061317837&type=3

And you can literally SEE the growth and improvement as time went on. Insane. Just insane.

Her FB and website can be reached in my 'Affiliations' tab.

Fyx

Updated
So... That is the end of large posts with several images. That was the final *completed* photoshoot I did and from now on out, posts will slow down. There are of course some images here and there that I played a part in that I will put up here as I feel like it, and little things that I enjoy doing (such as makeup, etc, girly-girl things)

And so that is that.

Serenity - Rain Nymph

The second part of the Rain Nymph shoot.

Now this time I wanted to come off a little more mature, a little more serene. Perhaps 'nymph' wouldn't be the best way to describe it. But it was a beautiful day, and we were in a beautiful place, and I wanted to come off as one with the background, with the serene park around me.

And this was the result:

"What I dream of is an art of balance, or purity and serenity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter - a soothing, calming influence on the mind..." - Henri Matisse

This experience made my love for nature grow even more, my love for beauty and the greens. I look forward to day where I can partner with them once again to create such compositions.

Love,
Fyx

ps. Having rashes for a week after this shoot was definitely worth it.

Rain Nymph
Finally, the most recent photoshoot I did with xbellanotte photography (although we do have one planned for this coming weekend *hint hint*) Not my most recent photoshoot since I just did one recently with Alex Leong, but this was the last time I worked with Isabella Tan.

This was a rather impromptu shoot. We wanted to head to the park to take some nice photos, but then it started pouring cats and dogs. But alas, art never stops for anyone, and hence we decided to shoot anyway. It was freezing, I was drenched and super cold despite Melissa being there to help me out once in a while with an umbrella. In less than 5 minutes, I was soaked to the bone and shivering like crazy. We got a couple of good shots, but 10 minutes in, my make up was almost completely washed off and my fake lashes had disappeared. Still, we persevered and continued on.

Despite the weather, this was SUCH a fun shoot. I wouldn't consider myself a wild child per say, but I couldn't resist climbing trees, eating leaves, rolling in the mud, dancing on the table (half on Bella's insistence, half out of my own want to go a little crazy). Bella had been doing a million different shoots between this one and our previous seven sins one. I didn't want to disappoint her hence why I pushed myself to create as many varied compositions as possible, all with Bella's patient guidance and wise council.

Let me just say, I love that girl.

There were so many photos from this shoot. So many that I liked, so I'm going to split this into two posts. This one, the first one, is me trying to act mischievous, as the title of the album suggests, like a nymph.

When I think nymph I think laughter, audacity, cheek. And that was what I was trying to portray.

So these first two were taken as soon as we got there, when my makeup was still holding out. Hence why I looked so clean and happy amongst the leaves. Don't be fooled though, it was FREEZING.

And then we moved to the tables:

I tried playing the coquettish angle:
'This is my forest, and I own this world. Come play if you dare.'

And of course, what would 'fun' be without a little tree climbing and dancing?

The playing and fun didn't really need to be forced or acted out. I was having a lot of fun, despite the cold and bugs. The last photo was taken after the rain had subsided. I was asked to dance, and so I did. I did pirouettes, star-jumps, etc. Great great fun, a shoot I would never forget.

Once again, thank you Isabella Tan

Fyx

Envy
Probably the most memorable photoshoot yet. Xbellanotte photography's Seven Sins project. This was done in November in a professional studio. Quite an experience and rather exciting I must say. I had alot of fun portraying Envy - the wretched one, jealous and hateful. Great fun. Wasn't very difficult to get in the role considering the 6 beautiful ladies around me. Here's a couple of photos from the shoot of everyone:

Meet Wrath

She's gorgeous isn't she. She did her own makeup as well, the intense eagle-eyed look. Simply beautiful, the paradigm of her sin. Looking at her makes me want to shudder and run. As I should, I know this girl and she can be the epitome of Wrath when she wants to be. Still, she's amazing, you should check out the entire album and her works. An artist, a fashion designer, a great friend.

Next up,
Greed

Looking at this girl now, you wouldn't think that she could be the innocent, sweet, adorable girl that I know her to be. Crazy isn't it? She was quite inexperienced as well when this shoot was taken (not so much now, she's learned a lot) But look at this! I was so proud of her. So beautiful. Congratulations baby girl.

The rest of the girls I didn't really know personally at the time. Although now I can say that I consider Gluttony amongst my friends.

I love it, especially the white backdrop. She looks incredible.

And finally Pride

Sloth

And Lust

And of course me;
as Envy

In terms of emotive photography. I must say, this was my proudest work. I did my own makeup and hair as well, and I enjoy the fake tattoo around my neck, I think it gives it a nice touch. 'Bound by my jealousy' it seems to suggest. I absolutely love, love, love it.

This, reiterate, was such a fun shoot. I don't know how well I succeeded in embodying 'Envy', I am proud of the very first photo, but the rest sort of dwindles in my opinion. I have received and myself, given, some mixed reviews. But all in all, it was a learning experience. I great one too.

For the full album (and you need to check it out to see all the other photos by the other brilliant, beautiful girls): https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.315211115173431.89743.253767061317837&type=3

Once again, all this couldn't be done without the hard work, dedication and talent of Isabella Tan, who was the photographer. Thank you so much for these wonderful photos and for being so amazing.

Much love,
Fyx

ps. Apologies for the inconsistencies of the sizes of the photos. I'm afraid the presentation of each photo depends on the original size + if they are landscape or portrait. If you have not already noticed, my blog is rather 'skinny' and hence the variation of sizes.

Baseline
Somewhere between August and November 2011 I decided to take a few photos for my portfolio. The typical ones where designers and agents can base why they would need you and what they would need you for. So here are a few. Not much description really. It is just to show my body and face shape.

(Measurements can be found on the 'About Me' page)

Here I am wearing minimal makeup. Black liner on the top eyelid, single coat of mascara and that's it. Also, form-fitting black spandex pants, black Aldo heels and a simple black top with a black bra underneath.

The last two was just for a bit of fun. Hehe. Ignore the blue nail polish please. Curse these. One day I will take a few without ANY makeup and without nail polish either. Someday soon. Video too.

Love,
Fyx

Elegance
The next two shoots were also done in August 2011. As you can see, I was a busy bee during my summer. I wanted have a worthwhile portfolio that agents would look at. Unfortunately, I never really found the time AFTER to search for agents and things, but hopefully that would change in the near future.

I did two shoots in one day this time. Classic Elegance and Golden Elegance. Unfortunately, I reaaally didn't like how the Classic Elegance one turned out. But if you're curious and want to see my failure (lol) you can actually go to this link to check it out: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.284680314893178.83760.253767061317837&type=3 but you have been warned.

As for the other shoot. I feel that I did alot better. Then again, now that when I think back to it, I didn't really give myself much time to contemplate ideas and such. Hence why I feel that perhaps I was sorely lacking in improvements between my shoots. But all the same, try to imagine all the previous shoot, including this one, were done together. Which technically, if you consider the short time span, they were!

Probably the first almost full-body photo so far. Lord, my nails are always blue aren't they. But yes, I quite like how this photo is really simple.

I probably should have chosen more. I did enjoy this shoot, running around barefeet in a golden dress in my friend's apartment. But I feel like my expressions don't vary very much. They almost all the same, and they conveyed the same thing,

And I'd rather not waste your time.

Tearful Loneliness
My first emotive photoshoot. Not my last nor my best I have to admit, but it was interesting all the same. I enjoyed trying to portray emotions through these photos although I hate to admit that I didn't really succeed. Sure it was a little sad, but it wasn't with the intensity or power I wanted. That is something I'm going to have to work with I'm afraid. I don't want to be just another girl trying to be a model. I want to actually make it.

I tried portraying a sort of hidden strength that I feel only women can possess. From centuries of being the 'inferior sex' I feel that perhaps we feel a sort of sorrow that men cannot feel. But then again, maybe that's just me. But anyway, I was trying to remember all the times I was broken and pieced back together again for this shoot. Tried to show a true form of sadness.

But evidently, I need to work more on that.

These last three are probably some of the few that would be amongst my portfolio. I especially like the last one, a shame that shadows covered half my expression, but it also leaves a lot to the imagination. Depending on how you spin it of course.

Thanks again to xbellanotte photography for these wondrous photos.

Love,
Fyx

Intensity
So I've done two shoots now. Both trying to highlight a theme or at least my entire body. Now we decided to focus on just my face and expressions. I wanted to do a more dramatic look this time, perhaps skirting on (or at least I hoped to) more Vogue-like, close ups. However, the makeup was done by me and hence wasn't VERY professional. But I enjoyed the shoot nonetheless. I was also quite pleased with the results.

These two are to show the makeup I suppose. It is a dark blue-black with glitter liner. I realized that sometimes it is very easy for dark makeup to look like I've been punched in the eye. But on the plus side, I absolutely LOVE makeup and have been practicing what looks good on me for years. Also, fake lashes of course to emphasize my eye-shape/size.

These are my favourite black and white ones. All almost the same sort of demure poses, but I love the effect it has. It almost makes me look sort of old-school/Marilyn Monroe. I think these was one of my favourite shoots.

And finally my two favourite photos of the entire session:

I've been told that I have nice fingers, and I do admit that they are probably one of my best features. I am naturally stick thin, so they have a sort of fragility in them that I enjoy exploiting. My only problem with the colored one is that my right arm sort of comes out of nowhere, and looks like its a foreign limb jutting out of my head. My fake lashes also has this weird clump in the inner corner of the eye. However, despite all that I do like how it shows off my hair color, a natural light brown, although the waves were ironed in.

These two are part of my top 15 photos of all time I believe and are definitely going into my portfolio. Especially the last black and white one. I had a very enjoyable time with this shoot.

Love,
Fyx

ps. This was done in August 2011, my third shoot.

I believe modelling, acting and photography are more than just images or frames put together. I am the canvas, mold and medium on which an artist may convey his or her passions; where a magician may weave his or her magic.
